Discussion:
Right-click Menu for Favorites Bar Folders in IE8

I keep a bunch of critical Favorites in the Favorites Bar, in Folders. When
I click the Folder on the Favorites Bar, it drops down a list of the links in
that folder. VERY helpful way to keep organized the links I need at work,
grouped by folders.

In IE7, I could right-click the folder right on the Favorites Bar and have
options like "Open" by which I could open the folder in an Explorer view,
rename links, edit them, duplicate them, arrange them, etc.. The right-click
options in IE8 no longer have that option. My only options are now "Open in
Tab Group" or "Customize Title Widths" or such almost helpful functions as
"Rename" or "Delete."

If I open the Favorites panel, I can right-click and get to the same "Open"
or "Sort by Name" options that used to be available right in the Favorites
Bar, so the functionality is still intact. But it takes me a few more clicks
to get there now than it used to, which is not an improvement. Can we get
the right-click functionality back in the Favorites Bar?

P.S. - Also posted this in IE General ... not sure where it is most
relevant, since there isn't an IE8 forum yet.

WinXP SP3 and IE8

Is the multi-post OK or not? I didn't see it mentioned in the Rules of
Conduct, and since there's no IE8 forum up, but I don't believe IE8 is still
in Beta, there wasn't a clearly "better" place to post.

There isn't an IE8- (or IE7-) specific newsgroup. And IE8 left beta over 6
months ago.

To avoid duplication of effort, crossposting is preferable to multiposting,
thank you.
