It would be nice to see some kind of "Auto Fill" functionality in IE8 similar
to Googles Toolbar add-on

Online Forms, Googles "autofill" will fill in Name, address, phone,
e-mail...etc. It also allows multiple profiles so several people can use the
auotfill feature and it'll fill in their own information. Also has a password
protected Credit card feature.

I agree. It should be in combination with a good password manager.

This is an good idea for an AddOn, in my opinion,
but build in? I fear there are some security problems.
(I could imagine public internet rooms, not correctly setup home PCs
with multiple users, whatever)

Now IE has the function AutoComplete. This can be disabled if necessary.
So I thought of an extended AutoComplete function that works as a
complete password manager.

Can you tell me where the "autofill" function lives or how to download the
Google Add-in? I just bought this laptop 3 days ago and I'd like to make it
suit my needs. Thank you.

toolbar.google.com

Once installed click the Spanner icon on the Toolbar to adjust its settings.
