problems with IE after update

After update IE to latest version, we can not connect to any page. Always get
the same error message: IE can not connect to server.

We've checked connection to server and it works perfectly. Also with the
modem.

it seems to be a problem with IE, but we don't know exactly what.

The Server is intra or inter net?

OS version and update level of your workstations?

IE8 may fail to load pages for the following reasons

Tools>Compatibility View Settings -
Display intranet sites in Compatibility View
Include updated website lists from Microsoft (internet sites)

Tools>Internet Options - Advanced tab
Automatically recover from rendering errors with Compatibility View.

Tools>Internet Options - Security tab
Intranet zone, Sites button - Automatically detect intranet network

Did you solve this problem? I have tried to follow what Rob wrote, but I
couldn't find what he was talking about!!!!!
I am now unable to run MSN as it needs IE to be up to date with updates.
Any help would be gratefully received.

still running a beta version of IE8.

Which version of Windows? (Including SP level- Vista SP1, XP SP2 ,etc.)
Which version of Internet Explorer? (From IE> Help> About)
Are Automatic Updates Microsoft) enabled?
What "MSN" won't run? Is MSN your Internet Service Provider? Live Mail?
Messenger? My MSN homepage? Live toolbar?
