Uninstall IE8. You have to click the "Show installed updates"-checkbox to do
that.

How do I reinstall 7? Unless I am missing something I will not have a way to
access the internet to download 7.
Thanks

Go to Control Panel and click on Programs and Features. When the program
window opens click on 'View installed updates' on the 'tasks' section (left
hand pane). Look down the list for IE 8.0 and click on it to uninstall. IE
8.0 will uninstall and be replaced by IE 7.0 (or whichever version of IE you
originally had on your PC.)

I'm using Vista and I do not see IE8 under any name listed in the "View
installed updates" area.
I have also tried reinstalling IE8 for the sole purpose of getting it to
appear in "View installed updates" but this did not work either.

Is there another way to uninstall IE8?

I haven't had any problems uninstalling IE 8.0 from the 'view installed
updates.' From what I can see in the release notes
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949787 no other way of uninstalling is
given. I haven't come across an alternative way of uninstalling.

I was hoping there was an uninstall .exe in the IE directory like there
appears to be for XP.
I tried restoring to a few points before I installed IE8 but that did not
work either.
Besides several of the sites I use often not working, my biggest complaint
is that Outlook Connector has not worked since I installed IE8. The Outlook
Connector's Detailed Report says it signed in successfully; however, nothing
syncs anymore. Using hotmail via the website is painful after using it with
Outlook.

Any recommendations for trouble shooting Outlook Connector with IE8?

1. By any chance did you install Vista SP1 after you'd installed IE8 Beta 1?

2. Is "Windows Internet Explorer 8..." listed in Installed Programs?

3a. Enable "Show Hidden Files & Folders" =>
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html#vista

3b. Is %windir%\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe <=this file present?

[%windir% typically = C:\Windows]

4. Do you use Registry cleaners?

if you are using vista, all you need to do is go to prgrammes and
features, then click on installed updates. Scroll down in the list untill you
find internet explorer 8, then click uninstall. Your computer will then have
to reboot to configure your settings.
There will be no need to re-install internet explorer 7 as vista comes with
it all ready pre-installed. This remains in your settings as IE8 only ends up
as an add on to the IE7.
Hope this solves your problem, I had the same problem and done these steps
myself and it has worked for me.
Good luck.

Hi,
[Large quantity of quoted material (EggHeadCafe) snipped]

See:957700- How to uninstall Internet Explorer 8:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700/

After IE8 is uninstalled, IE7 will be restored. You will not have to
reinstall IE7.

If XP SP3 was installed after IE8, you should uninstall SP3 before
uninstalling IE8.
