I have a strange issue with IE 6. I have to attempt to start it 2 times in
order to get it to work. The first time I double click on the icon, I get
the hourglass for 1-2 seconds, then nothing. If I double click it again, it
starts up normally. This also applies to starting IE from the Start Menu, I
click Start then click (single click) the icon for IE in the menu, and get
the same results. If I go back and click it the second time, it fires up no
problem. IE is the only program that is having this issue, all others start
as normal.

Please advise (With something other than "upgrade to IE 8" or something
similiar)

Thanks

NB: IE6 is not in beta.

Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; WinXP 64-bit SP2;
Win98SE; Win2K SP4) when posting in a forum or newsgroup. Please do so in
your next reply.

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)?

Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the
computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
it)?

Does the behavior persist after doing a Reset?
