just installed IE8 but i dont like how it shows history or favorites in the
drop down address bar is there a way to remove it. i tried going through
options but cant figure out how to do it.

Hi Omar,

Tools>Internet Options - Content tab, Autocomplete section, Settings button,

Uncheck "Use Windows Search for better results" , "Feeds" ,"Favorites" and
"Browsing history".

Leaving "Address bar" checked.

Save your changes.

These settings will give you the Classic Address bar autocomplete drop-down.

not at all.
it still offers complete URLs, but won't complete in the address bar.
just with pressing Shif+Enter will complete...

This didn't work for me.
I can still see the history in the adress bar when I activate it back.
I want to completely get rid of from the history of history in the adress
bar, I mean just the url's not that function.

my system is xp professional and I'm using ie8
