After installing McAfee Site Advisor, it is "grayed out" in the toolbar
settings window of IE8, therefore I can't check it to turn it on. If the new
"Safety Filter" in IE8 tools menu is Microsoft's answer to relace Site
Advisor, it's a poor substitute.
Site advisor turns yellow or red when encountering a suspicious web site.
Safety Filter requires that the user determine if they find a suspicious web
site, then they Ask Microsoft if it's OK. Site Advisor is far superior.

Any suggestions to get it to work in IE8?

Only one comment,
some months ago IE7.0 was beta for a long time. I don't know exactly
how long, a half year?
However, McAfee Internet Security had big problems with this IE7.0
beta. Not the security part for the IE the complete McAfee system.
Answer from the McAfee support "We will not support any beta versions,
IE, Windows, Office or whatever".

However, I fear there is nothing you can do, except for deinstall the
IE8.0 beta or wait for IE8.0 final.

Hi Bill,

"grayed out" in the toolbar indicates that it has been disabled in the
Addons manager list. It may be as simple as opening the Addons Manager and
enabling any SA components that have been disable.

Alternatives you may try

http://www.mywot.com

Site Info Context menu -
http://www.iecustomizer.com/?url=iemenus/index.asp?txtProvider=39
(SA report, Alexa and geolocation in one)

Regards.

My Site Advisor works fine, just as it always has. Bill you might want to see
about updating it or if you have Site Advisor Plus you might want to check
you account subscription hasn't run out.
