I've just installed Explorer 8 from 6 on XP. Wheras I was bale to read
Japanese script in Exp 6 it now won't display - just boxes. I've checked the
encoding and that's set properly and if I choose another language - e.g.
Russian, that displays correctly. Just not Japanese. Any suggestions?

View>Encoding>Autodetect

Tools>Internet Options - General tab, Fonts button, the default 'Times New
Roman' is a unicode font.

Tools>Internet Options - General tab, Accessibility button, check "Ignore
font styles specified on web pages".
(a web page may be specifying a font family that is not installed on your
version of windows, and you have changed your default web page font to one
that does not support unicode)

Failing that post back with the web address in question.

Regards.
