ie9 unusably slow

I just downloaded the IE9 preview and tried out a few of the demos that are
supposed to be hardware accelerated and I get the complete opposite. Running
in IE9 mode all the demos deliver 1fps or less. The fastest mode is IE7 or
just run them in chrome.

that's the case on my T60p at least. Surely it should work better than that?

Did you read the release notes or FAQ links from the test drive page?

System Requirements
Internet Explorer Platform Preview requires Windows 7 (x86 or x64) or
Windows Vista SP2 (x86 or x64).
For Vista users, Windows Internet Explorer 8 and DirectX 2D (D2D) must be
installed on your system. If you’re not already running Internet Explorer 8,
download and install it first. Then install DirectX 2D by installing the
Platform Update for Windows Vista, available on Windows Update.

Quite the opposite on my Visata x86 SP2.... IE9Preview 64 fps, Chrome 4 fps,
FX - does not work. (I am not bothering with O 10.5... they need to get a
fix for their latest fix).

Hover your mouse over the gliphs to slow down the refresh rate. Your testing
outcomes will depend upon the position of your cursor when you test in
different browsers.

PS. Always quote your Windows Version and service pack level when posting a
question here. It can make all the difference to the answer (or ca) we serve
up.
