toolbar...

In my IE6 I place menu toolbar first, and adress toolbar in second, in IE8
the toolbar dont move!!!

The latter works perfectly well for me.
Could it be that you have locked/fixed the toolbars?
Right clock in the toolbars spec and check in the context menu.

The letter us not true. Toolbars can be moved the same way as in IE7 and
IE6.

Could it be that you have locked/fixed the toolbars?
Check the state by right-clicking in the toolbars area and look in the
context menu.

Hi Rainald and Jocelyn,

Some toolbars developed for earlier versions of IE don't work properly with
IE7 or 8 and hijack the toolbar layout.... when you reopen the browser you
find that these toolbars have moved and occupy their own line on the toolbar
layout.

Check for updates from toolbar.live.com or toolbar.google.com or
toolbar.yahoo.com... these toolbars have been updated for IE8 and no-longer
hijack the toolbar layout.

If you have the Live toolbar installed you may want to update to the Live
suite of products at download.live.com (includes toolbar, mail, movie maker,
and other free software goodies)

The AOL toolbar from toolbar.aol.com still hijacks the layout. You can
however fix it by placing it Before the Menu Bar.

Regards.

Rob,
I have IE7, running on Windows XP Professional SP3. How can I prevent the
home button to be on the far right of the menu bar ? Why can't those
functions that are used often like reload, close, and home, remain grouped
ergonomically near the left part of the window where most of my "control"
mouse actions take place ?
Help, IE7's GUI is a real let-down.

Hi Michel,

On IE7 you can't do that. You can on 8. Win7 comes with IE8> I am using Win7
almost exclusively now! Christmas is around the corner. Go on treat
yourself....

Win7 is certainly the best thing in computing since last Christmas.

Oh. With IE7(and 8) you can replace the Navigation bar with the Quero
Toolbar which is fully customizable (buttons and skin). http://www.quero.at
