IE 9 rendering performance sluggish

Hi there,

The latest Internet Explorer Platform Preview runs very slowly on my work
laptop.

As an example, if I run the Map Zooming speed demo from the IE 9 Test Drive
site, it takes over 46 seconds to complete one iteration. The same test runs
an iteration in 7.5 seconds in Firefox, however I assume it's using CPU
rendering.

The computer is an IBM ThinkPad T60p (standard issue here at work). It has
a 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and is running Windows 7 Enterprise.
It has an ATI Mobility FireGL V5200 graphics chip in it that rates 4.2 on the
Windows Experience Index.

According to ATI's control panel, my Direct3D version is 7.14.10.0503, and
my OpenGL version is 6.14.10.6479. The driver version is
8.383.1.1-070621a-049739C-Lenovo.

Hey PA Bear,

Yeah, I ended up here through the Report an Issue menu. The third step on
the account setup process didn't link to the survey I was supposed to fill
out, so I just guessed where I was supposed to go and wound up here.

I apologize if this wasn't the right place for my bug report.
