Why have they disabled this feature?. Many people uses it. I will return to
IE7.

How can I uninstall IE8?. The only way I find is doing a restoration system.

Well, I have found the way to unistall IE8. I've retuned to IE7. To
uninstall go to Control Panel, "Programs and Features" unistall update.

I'll don't return to IE8 until they allow to work the feature inline
autocomplete in address bar.

It won't come back, sorry. I used to use it, too. apparently, it wasn't
used by many, though.

The solution is much easier: I simply don't use IE8. That's all. I've
returnet to my old explorer, and in the future perhaps move to
Firefox or Chrome. Not need to claim anything to Microsoft... They are who
must work well if they want many users to use its products.

That doesn't really explain what you think you are missing.

IMO the only significant feature being lost from the Address bar
is being able to use Environment variables there.
E.g. instead of being able to type %USERPROFILE%\
I now have to type C:\D press CursorDown, type a backslash,
press CursorDown, type the first character of my name,
press CursorDown and type another backslash. That's actually _fewer_
keystrokes (though admittedly more convoluted) but it is clearly using
AutoComplete for Windows in the Address bar.

Otherwise what we have now is much better than Inline AutoComplete
used to be. Just tab into the AutoSuggest dropdown once you have
started typing and cursor through it to see this. Now you can actually
preview where what you are entering will take you.

There are countless complaints about the lack of inline autocomplete for IE8 and no one from the MS camp can explain why it was removed. Frankly, I think it was a defect that has been marketed as a feature. I just bought a new laptop that has IE8 installed already. The first thing I tried to do was set up inline autocomplete. It's not about the features, it's about what's natural. Most people type then hit the enter key. That's how we all learned back in grade school. I don't expect to type, cursor down, type, cursor down, then type some more. It's a cumbersome, unnatural motion, not to mention just plain annoying. Anyway, there is no IE7 download for Windows 7 so I'm switching to FireFox. I've never really cared for the FireFox format, but the crap you're trying to pawn off as a feature is not for me.

It's NOT the same thing... In such case, how can we REDEFINE Shift+Enter Key
to only Enter Key.

Also, we don't like the way IE8 shows in the dropdown menu all the matching
addresses that it find in the History and Favorites in the address bar when
typing....

There should be an option to make it working just like in IE7 and previous
versions.

By the way, I will continue using the IE7. The problem will resurge when new
Windows versiosn appear. Means Windows 7, because it's suposed it come with
IE8... Then I don't know if it will be possible to reinstal IE7 in Windows
7...

So we need to check other browsers like Firefox or Chrome. Indeed Firefox
has NO PROBLEM with the autocomplete feature. We will consider it if
Microsoft definitively eliminates it.

Countless? (See your new Subject? Or perhaps this is an implied

Frankly, I think it was a defect that has been marketed as a feature.
Which? The original implementation called "Inline AutoComplete"?

Lots of good design--more general, more powerful, more elegant
gets dropped due to ignorance, catering to the opinions of the lowest
common denominator. Perhaps this is another example of that
phenomenon? <eg>
