Post by DimitrisThanks for your answer Robert.
I will give you an example. I am inside my facebook account, I click on the
"email" button but it takes for ever to open it, or when I click the "log
out" button I get the message "website can not be found".
Have you checked with Facebook support for some ideas
about your symptom?
FWIW I don't have a Facebook account so I can't try to reproduce
your symptom but an alternative I would use is F12 Ctrl-b
(Find in Developer Tools) to see what clicking on that button
would actually do.
Post by DimitrisAnother example, when I search on Google and click on the second page of the
search results, the second page may never open, but sometimes it does after
I refresh it.
Are you opening results in their own window or tab?
(That's an option Google provides in its Preferences page.)
If so, you would find that it reuses that one window or tab.
But in this example there would be no fixed host involved.
Each case would depend on the URL that the search found.
Post by DimitrisI really don't know what to do. I hardly know what DNS is and i don't know
what are the appropriate steps to take in order to fix this proble.
I hope you can help me.
Dimitris
Do you have any other examples which don't have some
particular quirks such as the ones I mentioned above? ; )

Post by DimitrisPost by Robert AldwincklePost by DimitrisHello,
I have a problem with IE8. I often need to refresh in order to open a
webpage. At first it says Webpage can not be found and when I refresh it
opens it. It does not always happen, but it happens more and more each day.
That could be a sign of a problem with your DNS especially if the
host names that you are having trouble with are aliases.
Give a specific example if you want help with that idea
or search for other posts I have made about this.
Search words: ping displaydns ttl
Post by DimitrisI have windows XP all updates downloaded.
Thank you
Dimitris
