i find the new ie9 as fast as ie8, the only difference for me is the directx
2d rendering engine. while browsing the web i would like to use an add
blocker that is as good as adblock for firefox. instead of writing own
software would it be possible to use firefox plug-ins in ie9? firefox
plug-ins are freeware and they show how to write plug-ins, so you can learn
from that how to support these plug-ins in ie. so why not make a ie plugin
manager that supports firefox plug-ins.

only my two cents...
about your sentence "and they show how to write plug-ins".
Yes very nice, ONE plugin can produce 1GB and 50% RAM usage ...,
if MS really look at other browsers they should take a look at Chrome,
not Firefox.
AND another thing, you should split between Add-Ons and plugins.
IE support only DLL based AddOns, there is (yet?) no special interface
for script based plugins.

Another point here is that it seems to me that MS not learned the
lesson, that a lot of IE Addons not works, only because the user can't
find it. E.g. search on the ieaddons.com site for common extensions
like Mouse Gestures, AddBlocker, Flashblocker, Spell Checker, either
you find nothing or only out-dated entries. And even though you find
something, try to install/deinstall it.

Overall I would say that the Addon system in IE is annoying not because
of the Addons on their own, rather of the install/deinstall handling
and the absence of a functional Addon Website.
